5 Places in Northeast Fort Worth to Donate Furniture & Home Goods

|

If you’re getting ready to redecorate or have some heavy-duty spring cleaning plans in your near future, you’ll need to decide what to do with any furniture and decor you’re getting rid of. If you don’t want to deal with haggling and online buyers traipsing in and out of your home, and you don’t want to toss usable items into a landfill, consider donating or consigning your unwanted items. Take a look at this handy guide from The Davis for some convenient spots in Northeast Fort Worth where you can consign or donate your used furnishings and home goods.

Furniture Consignment Stores

If you have furniture or decor items that are still in good condition or made by a well known or designer brand, consider consigning rather than donating them. You’ll free up space in your home, the store handles the sales process, and when the items sell, you’ll get an agreed-upon share of the price. Two of our favorite furniture consignment stores in the area are Furniture Consignment Gallery in Colleyville and Kiss It Good Buy in downtown Grapevine.

Thrift Giant

You can feel good about donating to Thrift Giant, which supports local non-profits and recycles items that can’t be sold, rather than dumping them in landfills. There are several locations around Fort Worth and Dallas, with the closest at 2715 N. Belt Line Road in Irving. You can drop off your donations at the store or schedule a free pickup at your place.

Goodwill

Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth has nine storefronts and drop off locations in the Northeast Fort Worth area, making it one of the most convenient options for donating. The Bedford store at 701 N. Industrial Blvd. is closest to The Davis. Goodwill proceeds support their employment training and job placement programs locally and nationally.

Donation Town

Of course there are many more organizations and charities in Fort Worth who will also accept donations. To find one, you can use the Donation Town website, enter your zip code, and then see a list of organizations in the area. Once you've picked your charity of choice you can schedule a free donation pick up or arrange to drop your items off. Easy!
