Urban Adventure Quest

Urban Adventure Quest is an interactive scavenger hunt that also doubles as an intimate tour of your city. This family-owned and operated "game" was created by some pretty big fans of The Amazing Race. For those who are unfamiliar with the reality television show, the game required teams to travel around the world and navigate through new places by following clues and interacting with locals.

Urban Adventure Quest is a similar game on a smaller scale, with greater focus on each individual city. This interactive game is available in more than 60 major cities across the country. The beauty of this scavenger hunt is that it can be played at any time that fits your schedule. Let's take a look at how it all works...

Your Device

First, you'll need a smartphone, tablet, iPad, or any other portable device with internet access (devices that require a WiFi hotspot will not work for this quest). Once you purchase your quest, you will receive instructions regarding your starting location and a variety of tips. Teams should have less than five people, so if you have a large group, you can split into two teams (each team will need to purchase their own quest) and compete against each other. When you reach your starting point, simply begin your quest and follow the clues you'll receive on your device!

Challenges

Now, this is a bit more complex than a traditional scavenger hunt. You aren't given a simple list of items to find--you'll receive clues one at a time, and you must unravel each clue in order to find your next location. Each city has unique clues and challenges that highlight certain points during your quest. Your team members can each access your quest in a read-only mode on their own devices, but only one person (the Quest Master) can enter answers.

Use Hints

The game is designed to be challenging, but not impossible. They've included "hints" options with each clue or challenge. These hints are available if your team is really stuck, but beware--each hint will deduct points from your team's total.

Points

Each city has a convenient leaderboard to keep things competitive. Your team receives points for each question it answers correctly (remember that your team can also lose points if you need to use hints!). Once you've completed your quest, your team will be entered into the Fort Worth leader board--see where you rank among others in your city!

The Tour

This exciting, competitive game also doubles as an awesome walking tour of the city. Your clues will bring you to a variety of interesting stops throughout Fort Worth. Many clues will reveal unique historical facts about Fort Worth's history that you may not have known!
