Give Back to Your Community and Volunteer in Fort Worth

Volunteering offers a great way to give back to the community while at the same time meeting new friends and learning new skills. You can do everything from sorting food to walking dogs. If you would like to donate your time, here are a few local organizations near our Fort Worth apartments looking for volunteers:

Bass Performance Hall 

One of the most well-known attractions in Fort Worth, Bass Performance Hall has stood at the corner of Fourth and Calhoun streets since 1998. It hosts over 300 performances annually and is home to resident companies like the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Texas Ballet Theater. The volunteers have an interest in performing arts. They serve as tour docents, performance night ushers, gift shop sales clerks, and more. 

Humane Society of North Texas 

At the Humane Society of North Texas, the mission is to end animal cruelty and pet homelessness. It was founded in 1905, and is the oldest animal welfare organization in DFW. The society depends on those willing to donate their time. The volunteers work at least four hours a month and attend a two-hour orientation before their first shift. Jobs include socializing cats, walking dogs, and adoption assistants. 

Tarrant Area Food Bank 

The Tarrant Area Food Bank was founded in 1982 by a group of Fort Worth residents worried about hunger in the community. Today, it serves 13 North Texas counties. Volunteers work at the food bank's Mission Market, where those in need "shop" for groceries at no charge. Volunteer duties include stocking shelves and staging non-food items.
