This super cool treat shop is famous in the South for its organic, all-natural, locally-sourced popsicles. Their menu features classic flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry lemonade, and coffee. And there are dips and sprinkles, too, to add an extra kick of fun.
Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt
If you want something a little healthier than ice cream, head over to Menchie’s. Their frozen yogurt menu features both indulgent and light options – and even some vegan, sugar-free, and low-carb flavors. Local favorites include Creamy Cocoa Hazelnut (made with Nutella), Cinnamon Bun (made with real cream cheese frosting), and the quintessential Texan Banana Pudding (made with Nilla wafers).
Curly’s Frozen Custard
It’s been nearly twenty years since Curly’s burst onto the Fort Worth scene and they have earned a place in locals’ hearts. Frozen custard, which is made not just with cream and sugar, like ice cream, but eggs, as well, creating a richer, denser texture, is a favorite Texas treat and Curly’s is no exception. Try a concrete (Death by Chocolate is a popular choice), or a shake with your choice of frozen custard. If you really want to go all out, dive into a sundae – the Texas Tornado, perhaps?
