4 TEX-MEX GEMS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF OLYMPUS 7TH STREET STATION

|

One of the best things about living in the Dallas-Fort Worth region is the abundance of mouth-watering Tex-Mex cuisine at seemingly every corner. In fact, there are several delicious Tex-Mex restaurants within walking distance of Olympus 7th Street Station.

Here are a few to check out next time you find yourself hungry while taking a little stroll.

Chuy’s

Not even a half-mile away, you’ll find this gem just down the street. This chain of restaurants first opened its doors in Austin in 1982, where they didn’t even have room for a men’s restroom. Locals recognize their eclectic, funky décor illustrated by the bright, wooden fishes strung across the ceiling. Their Tex-Mex cuisine is legendary because they stick to traditional recipes and ingredients. Their green chile sauce, for instance, comes straight from Española, New Mexico, where they know how to do green chile. Try their giant burritos, Tex-Mex Enchiladas, or their signature “Chuychanga.” And don’t worry about the calories – you can walk it all off on your way home.

Mi Cocina

This restaurant, which means “my kitchen” in Spanish, opened its doors in Dallas in 1991. They wanted it to be a well-rounded dining experience, marrying not just the freshest food, but also the warmest service, making patrons feel as though they had come home to the family cocina, where they were always welcomed by loved ones. An entire section of their menu is dedicated to Tex-Mex favorites including chalupas, tamales, enchiladas, and tacos.

La Familia

You’ll definitely want to head over to La Familia when you get a taste of their flaming fajitas, a customer favorite. Thankfully, you’ll be able to work up an appetite by walking to this restaurant – and you’ll need that when you see how big their plates are! And don’t forget to order their famous margaritas to make your meal extra special.

Chimy’s

If you figured out what “Chimy’s” is short for, you’re probably tying up your shoes and getting ready to head out. We’re guessing you’d probably walk further than just a mile to get some of the best chimichangas in town – but thanks to this restaurant’s proximity, you don’t have to. Try the Green Chile Pork Chimichanga or the Chicken Fajita Nachos.
