3 Ways to Spend the Day at Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park
Roughly 16 minutes away in Austin sits Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park. This park provides beautiful scenery and natural landscapes that you can tour. With at least three ways to spend the day at this location, and being only a short drive from our apartments in Buda, Texas, it's safe to say this is a place worth exploring this summer.
Bring Your Pup
Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park is dog-friendly. Bring your pup along and enjoy the day together exploring. There are two separate rules when it comes to canines at this park. In one area, you'll notice a leash designation. You'll have to keep your dog leashed in the sporting areas. In another, however, you'll see it say that there's an off-leash trail. Your doggos can go on the trail without the need for a leash to keep them near you.
Fish
This park offers great opportunities for fishing. A fishing pond is available for anyone with a Texas fishing license. Use your pole or bring a net for some easy catches in this area. It's especially ideal after a good rain. This is a great spot to fish if you want to do so without a large crowd nearby.
Play Disc Golf
An 18-hole disc golf course resides at Mary Moore. With plenty of trees and tough terrain in some areas, some of the holes will offer more of a challenge than others. If disc golf isn't your thing, that's okay. There are other sporting options available here as well, such as tennis, soccer, and volleyball.
