It’s 2021! You made it another year around that big yellow ball in the sky. If this past year taught us anything, it’s to not take anything for granted. So, with all the exciting unknowns that come with a new year, why not focus some of that energy towards new activities? Here are three hobbies to ring in 2021.
Take Up Golf
Maybe golf is a sport you never saw yourself playing. Maybe it didn’t seem like all that much fun. Whatever your reason for not giving this great-way-to-spend-an-afternoon a try before, this is a new year! And how perfect is it that right down the road from Carrington Oaks is Plum Creek Golf Course, an 18 Hole Championship Public Golf Course sprawled across 200 acres of land? As far as a place to learn the game, you’d be hard pressed to find better. Beginner golf classes are available for $59.00.
Learn to Play an Instrument
How many times have you played air guitar to your favorite song? Or imagined your fingers flying across a piano with peek efficiency? We’ve all done it to an embarrassing degree. But, why not turn imagination into reality? There are literally hundreds of free online piano tutorials on Youtube for learning everything from classical to Taylor Swift songs. For more in depth tutelage, paid programs like Udemy and Guitar Tricks are taught by industry professionals.
Learn a New Language
Let’s face it, once this pandemic is over you’re gonna want to travel. What better way to get prepared for that long overdue trip to Tokyo then by learning the language? Much like the paragraph above, there are plenty of applications and tutorials online to help you learn a new language. While there are some free apps/video tutorials out there, we suggest Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone is one of the oldest and most extensive language apps out there. $7.99 a month for a 12 month subscription will give you unlimited access to Rosetta Stone’s 25 language courses. So no matter where you go, you’ll be able to ask that most important question: “Where’s the bathroom?”
