TREK THESE 3 GORGEOUS TRAILS IN & AROUND OOLTEWAH WHILE THE WEATHER IS COOL

|

Now really is one of the best times to get out and explore around Ooltewah if you want to avoid the scorching heat and humidity of summer. So here are our favorite spots to go on a hike in and around town, while the weather is cool and the trails are less crowded.

North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Natural Area

With waterfalls, the river, wooden stair sets, and plenty of overlook areas, there’s so much to see at the North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Natural Area. Trek along the Flipper Bend Trail and stop to take it all in at the Pocket Wilderness Overlook point for incredible panoramic views.

Prentice Cooper State Forest

From insane rock formations to gorgeous riverfront views and 35 miles of trails, Prentice Cooper State Forest offers a lot of ground to cover with all the beautiful sights to see along the way. Traverse narrow wooden bridges, trek along rocky dirt trails, listen to the sounds of nature, and take in all the crisp, winter air without the summertime heat.

Enterprise South Nature Park

Tucked between Ooltewah and Tyner, Enterprise South Nature Park is a must-visit this winter. Whether you’re swinging by for a quick afternoon hike and picnic or planning on spending a majority of your day here, this 2,800 acre park offers plenty of gorgeous territory to explore.

When it’s time to find another fun activity in and around the Ooltewah area, you’ll want to make your way over to check out other blog posts from The Village at Apison Pike.
