The spring season is here and warmer weather is rolling in. Take advantage of this pleasant time of year and take your workout outdoors this season. Whether you’re headed out for a leisurely hike with the whole household or hopping on your bike to hit the trail for a solo ride, here are a few places you've got to check out.
White Oak Mountain Trails
Winding through a wooded 6-mile loop trail, this moderate hike includes a whopping 1,167 feet of elevation gain for incredible territory views and a killer sweat session. Be sure to wear proper hiking boots and pack plenty of water. As always, check for any adverse weather before heading out on this trail, and be sure to watch out for snakes and black bears.
Enterprise South Nature Park
Spanning 2,800 acres and packed with endless trails to choose from, Enterprise South Nature Park is the place to be for your next workout. Park at the main lot and start your trek along the Poe Run Path before forking off to the Poe Run Overlook route or the Hidden Lake Trail.
Wolftever Creek Greenway
A fully paved trail, plenty of flora and fauna, and even some well-maintained restrooms along the way add up to make this an awesome place to spice up your workout this spring. Jog, walk, or bike along this out-and-back 2.6-mile trail. Take in all the sights and sounds as you get some fresh air along Wolftever Creek.
