One of the oldest artist cooperatives in the United States, the In-Town Gallery features the best in contemporary art and fine American craft. The works are created by local artists, who offer everything from etchings to one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. Here are some of the artists you'll discover near our Ooltewah apartments:
Gay Arthur
After working as a dental hygienist for 25 years, Gay Arthur decided to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. She attended UTC and graduated with a BFA in Painting and Drawing. Today, Gay paints a variety of scenes, from famous gardens to old fire trucks. Her pieces are full of color and will enhance any space of your home.
Jonathan Clardy
Jonathan Clardy discovered a passion for pottery while attending Chattanooga State University. His work is inspired by his love of rock climbing and the "relationship between water and rocks that create movement." Jonathan crafts both altered and wheel-thrown pieces, and you can shop for bowls, skirt cups, platters, and more.
Spears McAllester
When Spears McAllester is hiking or backpacking, you'll likely find him with a camera in hand. He pursued digital fine art photography after a trip to Chile. Now, he's an award-winning nature and landscape photographer who captures stunning images from around the world.
Doug McCoy
A longtime Ooltewah resident, Doug McCoy is a talented mixed media artist. He focuses on line and color and regularly shows his work in exhibitions and juried shows. Doug creates different textures using thin layers of inks, acrylics, and colored pencils, and you never know what he'll think of next.
For added fun, you can meet the artists on the first Friday of every month between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. After visiting the gallery, indulge in small bites at a nearby restaurant. Finally, to call The Legends at White Oak home, please contact us. We will show you everything our apartments in Ooltewah have to offer.
