Ruby Falls

Nestled on Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls is the country's deepest cave. It's home to the largest underground waterfall in the United States, and gallons of water rush over the falls every minute. After descending 26-stories by elevator, visitors can explore the picturesque cavern path during a guided tour. The knowledgeable docent will share interesting stories about Ruby Falls, and in addition to the waterfall, the cave also features ancient geological formations.

Raccoon Caverns 

Open to the public since 1931, Raccoon Caverns is recognized for being for being one of the finest caves in America. A famed local caver named Leo Lambert found the cave two years before after climbing through a small opening in a horizontal crack, spending months working on the five miles of trails that visitors can explore today.  

Crystal Palace Walking Tours are offered daily, and the knowledgeable guide provides fascinating facts as everyone enjoys seeing natural formations such as soda straws, stalactites, and stalagmites. Those looking to get muddy won't want to miss the Wild Cave Expeditions. Participants need to wear gloves, pads, lights, and helmets as they crawl, pull, and push their way through the cave. There are five different tours which range from 2 to 4.5 hours, varying in both length and difficulty. 

The cave remains at a constant 58 degrees year-round and guests have the chance to see bats and salamanders in their natural habitat.
