At Olympus Midtown, we’re proud to give back to the Nashville community, and we’re excited to invite our residents to join us in placing donations under our Angel Tree.
For giving trees like this, it’s best to avoid extremely expensive gifts or items that are gender-specific. Keep your gifts gender-neutral, moderately-priced, and think about items that are simple and can provide long-term fun. Read on for a few suggestions.
Board Games
In a world where video games have become ubiquitous, simple board games are often overlooked, despite being an incredibly fun gift. Go for vintage classics like Candy Land or Monopoly, or something newer like Ticket to Ride. Or try outdoor games like mini cornhole or a pair of badminton rackets and a packet of shuttlecocks. And, of course, you can’t beat the classics! Chess or checkers is also a great option.
Educational Toys
Give the gift of knowledge with a toy that teaches. The Discovery Planetarium Projector teaches kids about constellations by projecting them onto the ceiling. Or try a Leapfrog Learning Friends bilingual electronic book to help with reading. And a GeoSafari Jr. My First Microscope is great for getting kids excited about scientific observation.
Puzzles
Children of all ages love a good puzzle. There are knob puzzles for toddlers, jumbo floor puzzles for middle-school aged children, and 3-D puzzles for older kids.
Outside the Box Gifts
Uncommon Goods offers an entire collection of anything-but-ordinary gifts that every kid would love. From Glowing Bath Time Buddies to Super Magnetic Putty, you can’t go wrong with this collection.
Don’t forget to leave your package under the Angel Tree before Christmas! For more tips on making the holidays magical for someone else in the community, visit the Olympus Midtown blog.
