Best Botanical Gardens Around the Olympus Midtown Apartments

Take a Scenic Walk Through These Nashville Botanical Gardens

Spring is here and it’s time to head outdoors and enjoy the sunshine and fresh blooms. As a Nashville local, you have access to many scenic outdoor spaces. We've compiled a list of three great botanical gardens near our Olympus Midtown apartments! Read on to learn about these visually stunning destinations, where it’s easier than ever to get your daily steps in.

Cheekwood Estate and Gardens

The extensive Cheekwood Estate and Gardens in central Nashville offers plenty to see for your next walk. This site's botanical garden features more than fifteen distinct areas, including a water garden, a sculpture-lined nature trail, a daffodil garden, and even a garden devoted to reading and literacy! Stroll through and admire the gardens' varied landscapes and flora. Alternatively, sign up for one of Cheekwood's on-site classes on subjects ranging from plant identification to calligraphy. Visit their site to learn more and plan your trip!

Belmont Mansion Gardens

The historical Belmont Mansion also hosts expansive gardens recently restored from their 19th-century glory. Perhaps the most striking features of the gardens are the preserved statues and ornaments scattered throughout, many in a Greek revival style. Of course, the plant life of the gardens is still the star of the show. Reproduced from photographs of the original 19th-century gardens, you will find rose beds, magnolias, and other iconic Southern flora. Visit the Belmont Mansion site for more info on visiting and a self-guided podcast tour of the gardens.

Deerwood Arboretum

Located in nearby Brentwood, the Deerwood Arboretum is a unique botanical garden with 27 acres and 69 species of local tree life. There are numerous trails among the trees for you to enjoy, and you can also spot native wildlife, varied ponds, and a meadow full of wildflowers along the way. Visit their site for more information and a helpful tree identification guide!
