3 REASONS TO CHECK OUT PORTER FLEA IN NASHVILLE

|

With the month of December here, everyone is thinking about holiday shopping. Like any gift-giving occasion, shoppers want unique holiday gifts that can't be found anywhere else. The Porter Flea market offers the perfect opportunity to find one-of-a kind and uncommon presents for everyone on your list, and is only about a 15-minute drive from Olympus Midtown apartments.

Here are the top three reasons why you should shop at Porter Flea.

1. Local Artisanal Goods

Porter Flea was founded in 2011 with the intention of selling modern handmade goods. Each vendor is hand-selected by the market operators to ensure authenticity. In 2012, the market was awarded "Best Artisan Market" by the Nashville Scene. Since then, Porter Flea has received acclaim from Southern Living, Forbes Travel Guide, and many more.

2. A Special Holiday Market

Porter Flea holds a special holiday pop-up event indoors at the Nashville Fairgrounds for two days only. All vendors have products specifically geared toward holiday decorating and gift giving. The special event runs from 6 to 9 PM Friday, Dec. 10, and 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday, Dec. 11. admission to the market on Friday is $25, but Saturday shopping is free. Parking at the fairgrounds will cost $5 (cash only).

3. Support Local Businesses

All the vendors at Porter Flea have a local connection to the greater Nashville area. You may even recognize some of the local artisans, like Forestdale Incense and Family & Future Chocolate. You can shop with ease knowing that most of the money spent will stay in the community.

A complete list of the holiday vendors was just announced recently, and be aware that masks are required at the flea market as mandated by the mayor's office. For more fun in the neighborhood, be sure to check out the Olympus Midtown Blog.
