5 MUST-VISIT NASHVILLE MUSIC VENUES

|

They don’t call Nashville Music City for nothing. There are countless venues around town where you can find some of the best live music in the world. Here are a few places to put on your list.

Ryman Auditorium

With 2,362 seats, this famous music venue is filled with history. It was built over a century ago and served as a tabernacle for many years before it became one of the city’s favorite performance hubs. Many celebrities and musicians have walked across that stage, including Mae West, Bob Hope, Katharine Hepburn, and Harry Houdini. At one time, it was the site of the Grand Ole Opry and as such, has seen countless country singers in its hallowed halls – in fact, it is the place where Johnny Cash and June Carter first met.

Robert’s Western World

Head over to Broadway to visit this honky tonk, known as the “undisputed home of traditional country music.” Enjoy a fried bologna sandwich along with some of the best live music in the city. And be sure to explore the downtown area while you’re there.

3rd and Lindsley Bar & Grill

Here, you’ll find live music seven nights a week – their calendar is packed with a nonstop rotation of incredible singers and bands. This venue has a typical laid-back Tennessee vibe. All you have to do is purchase tickets to the show you want to see, then show up and enjoy. 3rd and Lindsley has hosted Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlisle, Jason Mraz, Los Lonely Boys, Norah Jones, and Patty Griffin, just to name a few.

The Listening Room

This music venue and eatery makes sure it does everything well – from creating satisfying live musical experiences to serving some of the best food in the city. Their stage is stripped of all flash, pared down to let the musicians shine. Here, you come to enjoy both the food and the band – nothing is meant as “background.”

Grand Ole Opry

We can’t make a list of the best music venues in Nashville and not include this one, whose name is known all across the country. Perhaps no other place is more well-known as the home of country music. For nearly a century, fans have been enjoying the music scene here, where every seat is a great one.
