Everyone has been waiting anxiously for the return of music festivals, and finally, it’s happening. For over a year, many major festivals have gone virtual. Now, they're back. Check out these 10 festivals happening this summer.

Forbidden Kingdom

Forbidden Kingdom is happening on June 11-12 in Orlando, Florida. This festival put on by Insomniac Productions has an enchanted but cursed kingdom theme – there’s even a huge dragon on top of the main stage. If you love heavy bass music and dirty drops, Forbidden Kingdom has got to be on your list of music festivals for this summer. The lineup is made up of dubstep and riddim artists like Sullivan King, Subtronics, Excision, Svdden Death, Rezz, Liquid Stranger, and so many more. Do not miss out on all of the headbanging and wonky wubs. Grab your tickets today.

Hard Summer

Hard Summer is back in San Bernardino, California, taking place on July 31-Aug. 1. The lineup is a crazy mixture of headliners from rap artists like Future and 2Chainz, house DJs like Dillon Francis and Wax Motif, and hard dubstep artists like Kayzo, Rezz, and so many more. So if you’ve been dying to shuffle with your friends or headbang at the rail, Hard Summer is a great music festival for you.

Summer Camp

Another EDM festival coming up is Summer Camp in Chillicothe, Illinois. From Aug. 20-22, be prepared for a weekend filled with deep bass and weird wubs. This festival features a mix of heavy bass DJs and rap artists with headliners like Rezz, GriZ, Three 6 Mafia, Boogie T, Snails, CloZee, LSDREAM, and plenty more. Summer Camp is typically one of the biggest events in the Midwest every Memorial Day weekend. They pushed back the dates this year, but the show will go on – be sure to check it out.

Beyond Wonderland

Thankfully, Beyond Wonderland is also happening this year in San Bernardino, California, on Aug. 27-28. If you’ve never experienced Beyond Wonderland, this should be your year. It’s an Alice in Wonderland-themed music festival with secret stages through hidden passages and decorations that will transport you into the world of Alice. The lineup has not been released yet; however, you can be sure that it will be filled with amazing techno, house, dubstep, and hardstyle DJs.

Bonnaroo is a major music festival in Manchester, Tennessee, on Sep. 2-5. This is the full music festival experience, camping included. Some of the biggest names in pop, hip hop, rap, and alternative music will be headlining, like the Foo Fighters, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Tame Impala, Tyler the Creator, Lana Del Rey, and many more.

Electric Zoo

If you’re looking for a music festival on the East Coast, check out Electric Zoo in New York, New York, happening over Labor Day weekend on September 3-5. For three days, you will experience a neon zoo-themed event, electrifying the night. The lineup is filled with talented house, techno, dubstep, and riddim DJs like Subtronics, Illenium, Kaskade, Tiesto, Alesso, Rezz, Peekaboo, and a ton more.

Another Midwest music festival is Summerfest, taking place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One of the biggest events in the country, it happens three consecutive weekends: Sept. 2-3, 9-10, and 16-17. See artists from several genres of music, like EDM, pop, hip hop, rap, country, rock, and alternative. The lineup features artists like Miley Cyrus, Dave Matthews Band, Blink 182, Guns N’ Roses, Justin Bieber, G-Eazy, T-Pain, and the list goes on.

Riot Fest

Chicago, Illinois, has another music festival coming up this summer Sept. 16-19. Riot Fest is filled with alternative, rock, reggae, and hip hop artists like Sublime, Smashing Pumpkins, Run the Jewels, Pixies, Lupe Fiasco, Dirty Heads, and more. With additional bands announced closer to the date, you can be sure those three days are going to be filled with great tunes.

Imagine Music Festival

Imagine Music Festival is an aquatic wonderland-themed fest in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, taking place on Sep. 17-19. Camping at this festival is an amazing experience – there are activities, workshops, amusement rides and circus acts, a pool, and a pre-party for all of the campers. This major EDM festival has a wild lineup, including Excision, Illenium, GriZ, Kaskade, Fisher, Subtronics, Kayzo, Liquid Stranger, and a ton more.

Nocturnal Wonderland

Nocturnal Wonderland is back in SoCal on Sep. 18-19 in San Bernardino. This magical music festival is themed around electric neon nights. Hear the sounds of animals and view the beautiful, massive, light-up owls, wolves, and raccoons. Nocturnal Wonderland is an incredible experience filled with P.L.U.R. (peace, love, unity, and respect) and the option of camping to extend the fun. Insomniac Productions has not released the lineup quite yet, but stay tuned, because it’s sure to be amazing.
