HERE'S OUR GUIDE TO THE BEST 3 STOPS ON SANTA FE'S MARGARITA TRAIL

|

What’s better than a bar crawl, you ask? A margarita bar crawl in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Hit the ground running on the Santa Fe Margarita Trail, a one-of-a-kind margarita experience that allows you to visit the area’s best margarita spots (there’s more than 40 to taste, to be exact!). With your margarita passport or app in hand, you’ll receive $1 off the signature margarita at each participating location. Without further ado, here’s your guide to three of the best stops on Santa Fe’s Margarita Trail.

Secreto Lounge

Residing inside the Hotel St. Francis, you’ll find Secreto Lounge, a laid-back yet refined cocktail lounge serving up delicious cocktails and local spirits. Their signature Smoked Sage Margarita is an absolute work of art and must-try. Secreto Lounge uses orange liqueur, smoked sea salt, and the unusual but necessary ingredient of sage leaves to concoct this must-try margarita. They capture smoke inside the shaker, allowing an earthy flavor to come forward upon the first sip. It’s a true “garden-to-glass” cocktail creation.

El Farol

An iconic restaurant with roots dating back to 1835, El Farol serves guests a selection of tapas and undeniably good margaritas in its old-world Santa Fe atmosphere. Located up on historic Canyon Road, grab a view on the covered porch while sipping on the trail’s featured margarita, the Smoking Bull, a combination of smoky mezcal and cilantro-piquillo pepper agave syrup, rimmed with red chile powder. Mmm, spicy.

The Shed

A tried and true institution in Santa Fe, The Shed is known for its authentic Mexican dishes and even better margaritas. Located just a half-mile from the Plaza, guests can enjoy their margarita in the circa-1962 hacienda, with a full cantina-style bar serving up classic Southwestern fare and drinks. The Roca Coin Margarita is the featured trail marg, and there’s plenty more to choose from (over 20 to be exact, and even a Build Your Own Margarita option).

After earning all of those stamps, it’s time to cash in for prizes! And when you’re ready for your next marg, you now know where the best stops in town are. For more food and drink tips in the Santa Fe area, visit Olympus Rodeo’s blog.
