4 SANTA FE BREWERIES TO HIT UP ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY

|

Santa Fe has a rich craft beer scene, which means there will be plenty of places to go for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Here are a few suggestions.

Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery

For the past four years, Tumbleroot has committed to creating top-quality beers and spirits made with organic and wild-harvested ingredients. In the short amount of time that they’ve been in the business, they’ve racked up numerous awards and titles all around the country. Their taproom on Agua Fria Street features a huge courtyard as well as an indoor stage and dance floor – perfect for kicking up your heels on March 17. While you’re there, order a Honey Double IPA, a Sour Red Ale, or try one of their flavored rums.

Second Street Brewery

This brewery has long roots in the Santa Fe community, dating back to 1996, where it all began. Thanks to their loyal patrons and delicious brews that kept the business growing, they were able to expand to two other Santa Fe locations – the Railyard District, where patrons can enjoy all the nearby exhibits and markets, and the Rufina Taproom in the city’s former industrial zone which is now fast becoming a hot spot for theater, concerts, art installations, and other cultural events. They have a small menu of delicious pub-style meals, perfect for a light dinner, and an expansive selection of craft beers from their Golden Ale to Cream Stout.

Chile Line Brewery

Here, you’ll find a deep respect for some of the most old-school preparations of beer in the industry. For instance, they make a great rauchbier (smoked beer), which is made from malted grain that’s been dried over an open flame, much like smoked meats. They then take these old traditions and give them a New Mexican spin, like their Que Picante and Como Pica, rauchbiers made with red and green chiles, respectively. For St. Patrick’s Day, we highly recommend the Salty Dog Stout made with smoked sea salt and with undertones of chocolate and coffee.

Santa Fe Brewing Co.

One of the oldest breweries in the city, established in 1988, this company is all about making themselves as unique as Santa Fe. Try their Santa Fhazy IPA, NMX Standard, or Java Stout, just to name a few customer favorites.
