To add a unique piece to your home, shop for Pueblo pottery. It's one of the most collected forms of Native American art, and is made by hand without the use of a pottery wheel. The best places to shop for Pueblo pottery near our Santa Fe apartments include:
Andrea Fisher Fine Pottery
Nestled in the historic Plaza District, Andrea Fisher Fine Pottery is one of the world's premier Native American pottery galleries. Before opening the gallery in 1993, Andrea held a variety of jobs, from art teacher to department store buyer. Today, she offers a fabulous selection of pottery. The pieces are displayed by pueblo and date between the 1880s and today.
Steve Elmore Indian Art
A New Mexico native, Steve Elmore, began to collect Native American art more than 15 years ago. Today, he proudly owns Steve Elmore Indian Art. While he loves all Pueblo pottery, he focuses on pieces made by the Hopi tribe. Many of the creations are museum-quality. They're selected for their rarity and include vases, dough bowls, and classic water jars. Along with the pottery, you can also shop for baskets, jewelry, kachina dolls, and other items. The shop is open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
King Galleries
At King Galleries, you'll find historic Pueblo pottery from the 1920s, as well as works by contemporary and emerging potters. The gallery gains attention from Travel & Leisure. It has been a local fixture for more than 25 years. Every piece of pottery is hand coil built, stone polished, and painted, and will surely make the perfect addition to your home.
