HOW TO BRING NEW MEXICO ENCHANTMENT INTO YOUR APARTMENT'S DECOR

|

When you think of New Mexico, you picture desert sunsets, stunning architecture, incredible food, and Mexican and Native American cultural influences. Instead of letting the New Mexico charm greet you when you leave home, it’s time to surround yourself with some of the elements that make the Land of Enchantment so special.

Color Pairings & Patterns

Southwestern decor is well known for its mix of bright and muted hues. Think terracotta and a pop of turquoise or vibrant mustard and navy. Try these aqua green glass vases on a coffee table with a few rust orange-colored pillows from HomeGoods on your couch. Or go for a bright throw blanket and muted accent rug – there are plenty of ways to pair up these pretty colors.

Unique Textures

New Mexico is known for its gorgeous natural landscape from prickly cacti to soft, sandy hillsides and beautiful, desert foliage. Incorporating these textures into your own apartment home is as easy as popping a flowering cactus on a bookshelf, placing a couple of these teak, decorative bowls on your dining table, or hanging up a pretty, woven decor piece.

Enchanting Elements

Land of Enchantment, eh? Exude that desert charm in your home by incorporating themed elements throughout your space. Try an abstract art piece that captures a sun moving across a mountainside. For a conversation-starting piece, go for a resin cow skull. And it’s nowhere near true New Mexico decor without a chile ristra hanging around somewhere!
