Do you want to enjoy an exciting bike ride through the city's stunning scenery?
If so, here are three trails near our Albuquerque apartments where you're sure to enjoy an adventure to remember:
PASEO DEL BOSQUE TRAIL
Called one of the best bike paths in the west, Paseo del Bosque is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. It follows the Rio Grande for approximately sixteen miles through the city. Each section is distinctive, and along the way, riders pass the Rio Grande Conservation Center and the ABQ BioPark Zoo. Paseo del Bosque is one of the longest trails in Albuquerque and draws a crowd during the International Balloon Fiesta.
WHITE RIDGE TRAIL SYSTEM
Surrounded by rocky desert scenery, White Ridge stands out for its vertical exposure. Fast sections of singletrack follow the ridgelines, and while not very technical, the path is narrow enough to hold a rider's attention. Rated intermediate, White Ridge welcomes all skill levels, and markers help cyclists find their way.
TUNNEL CANYON TRAIL
Meandering through the Cibola National Forest, Tunnel Canyon offers some of the most breathtaking views in town. It provides a fun, yet challenging ride with steep climbs and swooping runs mixed in between. The temperature changes high atop the mountain, and riders may spot wildlife throughout the trail.
Tunnel Canyon spans twenty miles, and for a bonus, it connects to the Otero Canyon Trail. Otero Canyon offers a fairly remote experience and features a fast downhill and a difficult rocky ridge. The path stretches five miles and gains about 800 feet in elevation.
