5 WAYS TO CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY THE RIGHT WAY IN ABQ

|

You don’t have to be Irish to enjoy this beloved spring holiday. Make the most of the day by celebrating with one of these local events or a visit to one of Albuquerque’s traditional Irish pubs.

Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Crawl

This is promising to be a huge event, with over 2,500 participants. A ticket to this crawl will get you two free drinks, waived cover fees at every venue, a green lanyard to indicate your participation, entry into the costume competition (which happens to have a $1,000 grand prize), and access to the after-party. You’ll get to visit favorite local pubs and bars including Bourbon & Boots, Damacio’s Bar & Tapas, Red Door Brewing Company, The Library Bar & Grill, Thirsty Eye Brewing Company, Side Effex, and Boese Brothers Brewery.

St. Patrick’s Day at Brew Lab 101

Head over to Rio Rancho’s Brew Lab 101 on St. Patrick’s Day for their epic party that includes live bagpipe music. You can try a variety of their brews, like Event Horizon oatmeal stout, Wicked Pissah New England IPA, or red ale Sassy Brunette.

Shamrock Shuffle

Also over in Rio Rancho is this year’s Shamrock Shuffle Run. On Sunday, March 13, you can choose to run the 10-Miler, 10K, 4 Mile Run, or the 4 Mile Walk. You’ll get a free t-shirt, and medals are available to the 10-Miler participants. You can register online or at the Albuquerque New Balance store on Ellison.

Bosque E-Bike Ride

While not specifically a St. Patrick’s Day event, this is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and the stunning Bosque Trail if you prefer to celebrate outside the box. You’ll get to ride an electric bike (which is incredibly fun, in case you haven’t tried it before) along the beautiful Rio Grande on March 12. Afterward, enjoy lunch at Bike-in Coffee at Old Town Farm.

Two Fools Tavern

And if you want to go old school with your celebration, drop by this tavern, one of the most authentic Irish pubs in the city. As soon as you walk inside, you’ll feel like you’re in Ireland. Enjoy their Irish Coffee, whiskey cocktails, and extensive beer selection, as well as classic fare like Guinness Beef Stew, Bangers & Mash, and Corned Beef & Cabbage.
