Adopt a Pet from One of These Shelters Around Albuquerque
Are you looking to add a furry companion to your home? There are a number of shelters in the area that are home to loving animals looking for a home. Here are a few to check out near our Albuquerque apartments.
Animal Humane New Mexico
Established in 1965, Animal Humane New Mexico is now the state's leading private animal welfare organization. It helps over 10,000 cats and dogs every year. The animals are never euthanized based on age or length of stay. They receive plenty of TLC from the volunteers and enjoy a comfortable place to sleep while they wait for their forever homes. Adoptions take at least 30 minutes to complete and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Watermelon Mountain Ranch
When Lee and Sophia DiClemente decided to share their passion for animals, Watermelon Mountain Ranch opened its doors. It boasts a ten-acre main campus, offsite adoption centers, and two resale shops. You'll find cats and dogs of all ages and breeds. The team will arrange a meet and greet and answer any questions you have about your new furry friend.
PACA
Standing for People's Anti-Cruelty Association, PACA is a no-kill rescue group that began rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing cats and dogs in 1973. It has no shelter facility. A dedicated team of volunteers fosters the pets until they find loving families. You can meet PACA's cats daily at PetSmart on Academy Road Northeast. As for the friendly canines, they're available at the dog adoption clinics at Far North Shopping Center on the first and third Saturday of every month. Check PACA's Facebook page for date and time confirmation.
Whether you adopt a canine or feline friend, relax at home by watching the greatest cat movies of all time. Finally, to become a resident of Olympus Encantada, please contact us. Our team will show you everything our apartments in Albuquerque have to offer.
