Founded in 1956, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra has a long history of entertaining and inspiring audiences. It's "praised for its artistic excellence and leads the cultural landscape in southeastern North Carolina." When you're ready for a night of music, here are a few of the musicians you'll see near our Raeford apartments:
Kristin Stiteler
An Ohio native, Kristin Stiteler started learning the violin in the third grade. She later played the bass drum at The Ohio State University and was the first female bass drum player in the band's history. Today, she's in her 21st year with the Fayetteville Symphony. Kristin now plays the viola and also enjoys learning Celtic and American folk music on the banjo, mandolin, and guitar.
Victoria Nelson
Victoria Nelson calls Raleigh home. She's a principal percussionist with the Fayetteville and Durham Symphonies and also plays drum sets with the Durham Flash Chorus. When Victoria isn't on stage, she maintains a private percussion studio where she welcomes students of all ages.
Bill Tyler
After working as an air traffic controller for more than 25 years, Bill Tyler decided to retire. The following year, he became a horn player with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. He also performs with the Carolina Philharmonic and Greenville Symphony, among other groups. In his spare time, Bill works out at the gym and finds creative ways to goof off.
Jessica Caviness
Jessica Caviness started playing the violin at three. She played for two years with the Union Symphony Youth Orchestra as a teen and later graduated with a Master of Music Degree from the University of Wyoming. Jessica also writes original tunes and hopes to inspire others by sharing her love of music.
After the performance, meet friends for drinks at a local brewery. If you're looking to call Stone Gables home, please contact us. We will schedule a tour where you can discover everything our apartments in Raeford have to offer.
