5 CHARLOTTE DESTINATIONS TO RELAX THIS SPRING BREAK

|

Are you ready for spring break? If you’re impatient to get out and about this month, check out these ideas for a great way to spend spring break locally.

Mood House

There’s one thing you absolutely must do during your spring break: get a massage. Leave all your daily demands behind at this retreat, where they try to bring that “desert wellness Palm Springs” vibe to Charlotte. Their massages aren’t the kind you might expect – you won’t be choosing between Swedish and deep tissue, but between moods. Want to feel calmer? More abundant? A little more awake? Choose your mood and your massage will be customized to meet your needs.

The 49ers Trail

Get out and enjoy the fresh air on this stunning 8.4-mile trail. It was named not only for the year that the first permanent college in Charlotte was established, but also for the fact that the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s campus is right on Highway 49, and because the state has a long history of gold mining. In fact, the UNCC mascot is named Norm the Niner. You’ll find many green spaces to enjoy here, as well as important buildings and sites on the UNCC campus. Don’t forget to stop at the botanical garden!

U.S. National Whitewater Center

If you love being active and spending time outdoors, you’ll definitely want to drop by this amazing outdoor park and recreation center. Take a few yoga classes, rock climb, mountain bike, trail run, or tackle their ropes course to challenge your skill, balance, and endurance. You can also enjoy a few rides on their zipline, or take an adventure in the water by kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and whitewater rafting.

Charlotte Liberty Walk

Take a break from the demands of everyday life with this historic walk that will guide you all around Charlotte, and help you learn about its Revolutionary War history. There are no existing structures from this time in history, but the interactive map provided and the travel from site to site will help you visualize what the town used to be like in the 1700s.

Golden Cow Creamery

We couldn’t resist including this one. Because everyone needs a quick ice cream break from time to time. With 150 rotating flavors, you can’t go wrong.
