Charlotte is gorgeous any time of year, but especially when the flowers begin to bloom. Thankfully, our apartments in Charlotte are surrounded by colorful, lush grounds and tranquil surroundings at nearby public gardens. Our favorite gardens around the neighborhood include:
McGill Rose Garden
This garden has more to offer than just a magnificent abundance of roses. Stately trees, colorful annuals, understated perennials, and fragrant herbs beautifully accent the rose collection. The McGill Rose Garden is also a popular wedding and event venue.
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
Located in Belmont, a mere 30 minutes west of uptown Charlotte, the 380-acre Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden sits on the banks of Lake Wylie. This extensive public garden features a stunning conservatory full of orchids and other tropical plants, spectacular gardens filled with fountains, and plenty of nature trails to explore.
UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens
The curated collections at UNC's Charlotte Botanical Gardens are grown for more than their exquisite beauty. They're also valuable assets used in research, education, and conservation efforts at the university. Start your visit with the six main collections in the delightful at all seasons McMillan Greenhouse.
The collections include fascinating carnivorous and bog plants, intriguing desert succulents, a dinosaur garden featuring ferns and fern-like plants, economical plants that have provided many of our foods throughout history, breathtaking orchids, and lush tropical plants.
