5 ROMANTIC DATE NIGHT SPOTS IN CHARLOTTE

|

The Queen City is not only a hotspot for culture and art, it also happens to be home to beautifully intimate and romantic spaces. Here are a few to try for your next date night.

Romare Bearden Park

Over on Church Street, you’ll find this urban oasis. Right in the heart of Uptown, these 5.4 acres feature stunning green spaces, gardens, and walking paths that are perfect for a romantic stroll. You’ll also get amazing views of the cityscape. Settle onto a bench with your sweetheart to watch the sunset, or head over after dark for a nighttime stroll among the city’s sparkling lights. Either way, you’ll find plenty of spots to pause for a kiss.

Soul Gastrolounge

This eatery, a favorite of locals, features a dark, intimate interior, casual atmosphere, and delicious tapas, making it perfect for a date night. Try their cheese plate, featuring North Carolina artisanal cheeses, toasted bread, and Greek fig preserves, or go for the Sashimi Tuna Tacos which come in fried wonton wrappers, with marinated cucumbers and sriracha mayo on the side. Nothing is more romantic than sharing your food – except maybe a little footsie under the table!

The Evening Muse

There’s a reason music is often associated with romance – it’s a language all its own that can evoke feelings in ways words can’t always achieve. So head over to The Evening Muse for a night of live music. Their February lineup includes Matt Walden with Annelle Staal, Easy Honey, Arson Daily, The William Hinson Band, Jill Sobule, and Jess Klein. This is truly a place for lovers of all kinds.

Copperhead Island

If you and your sweetheart love nature and an urban park just isn’t going to cut it, then head out to one of Charlotte’s most beautiful natural areas for a romantic hike. Copperhead’s 20 acres are crisscrossed with hiking trails and stunning views of Lake Wylie. If you want to go all out, bring a picnic basket and look for that perfect little nook for an intimate meal for two.

Art Walk

Though this is technically multiple destinations, it’s a fun romantic outing that will give you and your sweetheart the chance to learn a little more about Charlotte. Put together a list and find all the public art – or turn it into a scavenger hunt!
