You’ll Love Volunteering at These Animal Shelters in Twin Falls
If you enjoy working with animals, consider becoming a volunteer at a local animal shelter. You'll help make a difference in the lives of pets as they wait to find their forever families. The rescues near our Twin Falls apartments include:
People for Pets - Magic Valley Humane Society
The People for Pets - Magic Valley Humane Society helps about 1,200 adoptable pets every year. It welcomes cats and dogs of all ages and breeds and offers loving care until they find forever homes. To help, attend a volunteer training class. The sessions are held on the first and third Saturday of every month at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. As a red level volunteer, you'll help with cleaning and other basic tasks. More experienced helpers walk dogs, socialize cats, assist with adoptions, and more.
Broken Hearts Rescue
A small nonprofit organization, the Broken Hearts Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals. It works with other local shelters to help with overcrowding and accepts senior and special needs animals to improve their chances of finding loving families. Broken Hearts is always looking for friendly volunteers. Contact the rescue to learn more.
City of Jerome Animal Shelter
The City of Jerome Animal Shelter annually welcomes around 500 dogs. It works to reunite lost canines with their owners and finds homes for those abandoned or neglected. Additionally, the shelter also operates a pet food bank to help residents in need feed their furry friends. The volunteers offer an enriching environment. They provide exercise and stress relief and also transport dogs to other facilities or to participate in the shelter's events.
After volunteering, enjoy a perfectly prepared burger at a nearby restaurant. If you are considering calling our apartments in Twin Falls home, please contact our leasing team. They will schedule a tour where you can see our Cedar Park & Canyon Falls Townhomes firsthand.
