Visit Tybee Island While Loving Your Savannah Apartment

Savannah, GA, is a popular tourist destination in the south, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun at Tybee Island as a resident at one of our apartments in Savannah. It's pretty beautiful, with several beaches and fun attractions to visit. There are restaurants, shops, and many activities you should participate in, and possibly make it a regular place to visit either by yourself or with loved ones.

Tybee Island is Savannah’s Main Attraction

Tybee Island is only 20 minutes away from the downtown area, and if you want to get away from your Savannah apartment for a weekend, you can stay in one of the many cottages or inns on the island. You could visit the pier or look out over the ocean from a beautiful pavilion on the beach. There are even live alligators you can watch from one of the famous restaurants in the area. With so many attractions in one place, it's hard not to want to visit it.

Check Out the Tybee Island Marine Science Center

Located right on the beach, Tybee Island's Marine Science Center welcomes visitors every Thursday - Sunday. Admission is only $10 per person, and children under four can get in for free accompanied by a chaperone. Currently, masks are required for entry, but there are still many programs to participate in for everyone. Take a tour through the center and visit Tybee's Lighthouse, too.

Soak in the Sun at One of Tybee Island's Beaches

You can visit five beaches on Tybee Island, including South Beach, North Beach, Mid Beach, Back River Beach, and Little Tybee Island. At sunrise, you'll likely see dolphins having fun in the water at North Beach, and South Beach is the most popular beach on Tybee Island, with several shops, restaurants, and the renowned Tybrisa Street.

Like South Beach, Back River Beach is a popular spot to go dolphin-watching, and the gentle waves are perfect for children wanting to have fun in the water. Mid Beach is right in-between the South and North beaches and isn't far from most of the popular attractions on Tybee Island. Little Tybee Island is one of the lesser-known spots at Tybee, so if you're looking to get away from people, this is the beach to check out.
