THE BEST SPOTS TO SEARCH FOR GHOSTS IN SAVANNAH

|

Known as one of the spookiest cities in America, Savannah does not disappoint when it comes to haunted hotspots you can actually visit. Just in time for Halloween, The Slate is sharing our top list of places in town where you might actually see ghosts. Check it out!

Colonial Park Cemetery

But really, though, you had to see this one coming! Not only is it a spooky cemetery in the Historic District, but Colonial Park Cemetery is a well-known burial ground for close to 700 bodies who passed during the Great Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1820.

Wright Square

Also known as “Hanging Square”, Wright Square was a previous courthouse location and many hangings happened here. Almost every park in the Savannah area is dotted with moss-covered trees, yet interestingly enough, in Wright Square, the moss just doesn’t grow. Are spirits responsible? You decide!

The Olde Pink House

While we all know Moon River Brewing Company is a hotspot for ghostly activity and drinks, why not switch things up a bit and check out The Olde Pink House? Treat yourself to gourmet Southern food and a handcrafted cocktail, but be on the lookout for the spirits that roam about. This destination on our list is well known for common run-ins with the spirit of the original owner, women being locked in bathroom stalls by unknown apparitions, an elusive tidy “helper”, and a sobbing ghost-woman in the upstairs level of the house. The Olde Pink House is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike so we recommend making reservations well in advance.
