What was once an area full of rundown buildings is now an artsy neighborhood that welcomes thousands of visitors every year.

It's called the Starland District, and highlights include:

GREEN TRUCK PUB

When Josh and Whitney decided to offer a place where locals could eat and drink well, the Green Truck Pub was born. They make everything from scratch including the ketchup and salad dressings. The pub has won "Best of Savannah" eight years running, and it's known for serving some of the best burgers in town. Green Truck offers a casual atmosphere and comes complete with chalkboard menus, unique light fixtures, and a jukebox that plays all of your favorite tunes. Burgers include Hot Rod, The Whole Farm, and The Blue Ribbon, and they're served with your choice of fries or slaw.

URBAN POPPY

Growing up in Queens, Anissa Manzo watched her mother and grandmother plant beds of flowers. She earned an MFA in Graphic Design, and today she owns Urban Poppy with her husband. The florists design arrangements for all occasions, and will gladly create a custom bouquet. Blooms include violets, tulips, and blush hyacinths.

TWO TIDES BREWING

Two Tides is a small-batch, handcrafted brewery. The brewers specialize in modern styles, and they create year-round options and seasonal favorites. Owner James Massey is a long-time homebrewer who enjoys sharing his passion for beer with others. Two Tides is a fun place to meet friends, and it features colorful murals and plenty of arcade games. The bartenders are attentive, and they help everyone find their new favorite drink. The selection includes Elaborate Hoax, Cold Hard Facts, and Refresh My Memory.
