Nintendo has released the Version 2.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and it offers a ton of free new content! Here’s everything you need to know to make the most out of your upgraded island living.
Brewster & The Roost
Finally! Finally, we can go to Brewster’s cafe, The Roost, to enjoy the taciturn pigeon’s handcrafted coffee. The game just felt unfinished without this series staple. Order up enough cups of joe, and you might even form a bond with Brewster.
Kapp’n & the Mysterious Islands
Kapp’n! Yet another character we were missing. Kapp’n will serenade you with his iconic sea shanties on the way to a hidden island destination. On Kapp’n’s mysterious islands, you can explore environments set in different seasons and different times of day – allowing you to obtain rare and out-of-season items.
Harv’s Island
To be honest, players didn’t have much reason to go to Harv’s Island unless they were serious about setting up lots of rooms for lots of pictures. And even then. Now, the groovy doggo’s island can expand – with your help. It’ll take you a lot of Bells (the in-game currency), but you can open up a plaza with tons of new shops. You’ll be able to get furniture customized, have your fortune read, and complete your art collection.
Sasha!!!!!!!!!
Have you seen how unbearably cute these new villagers are? If the header didn’t clue you in, our hearts belong to this mint bunny with big sparkly eyes named Sasha. And we aren’t alone! Many players are going to great lengths to get this villager to come live on their island.
Happy Home Designer
Nintendo also released paid downloadable content called Happy Home Paradise. Taking cues from Happy Home Designer on 3DS, this addition to the game allows you to go to work. Don’t worry; it’s more fun than it sounds! You’ll take on clients to help them build the vacation home of their dreams. You’ll also get to design facilities like restaurants, hospitals, and schools. Through playing the DLC, you’ll unlock various design techniques like adding partition walls and soundscapes to a room, and you’ll also be able to remodel your villagers’ homes.
