It’s well-known in the region that Broughton Street, right here in downtown Savannah, offers some of the best shopping in the South. A lot is packed into these few blocks, from antiques to boutiques. Here’s where you need to head to shop like a local for those unique, last-minute gifts.
The Paris Market
Once featured in Southern Living magazine, this shop is modeled after an expertly curated Parisian flea market, within a historical Victorian building that used to be a grocery store. The owners have worked hard to create an environment in which shoppers can escape the everyday world and enter a place of whimsy and elegance. They carry Parisian skin care lines as well as a beautiful line of holiday-inspired candles like “Merrimint” (yes, it smells like a minty candy cane), and French Alps.
24e Design Co.
This design shop insists that its furniture is “not for the meek.” They feature bold home décor items and have worked with many of Georgia’s elite. And guess what? They carry not only furniture and offer design services, but they also have a gift line. (A gift line that is similarly “not for the meek.”) You’ll find jewelry, candles, T-shirts, glassware, and more, much of it featuring their favorite four-letter words. Head there to pick up items for the sassiest people on your list.
Zia Couture Jewelry
Founded in 2005 by Zia Sachedina, who grew up in both the United States and Kenya with a Japanese-American mother and East Indian father, this shop has been heavily influenced by cultures from across the globe. Each piece is designed to tell a story – they truly showcase what it means to be a “statement piece.” Check out the Tiger Eye Slice Earrings, the Chrysoprase Pendant, and the Silver Dust Champagne Dome Ring. They also carry scarves, handbags, skirts, and some seriously stylish face masks.
Planet Fun
For the young and young-at-heart on your list, you’ll definitely want to stop at this shop for all the best video games, collectibles, toys, and gag gifts. They carry Star Wars, manga, anime, Nintendo, PlayStation, He-Man, Strawberry Shortcake, and so much more. 2021 marked their 10-year anniversary on Broughton Street, so be sure to congratulate them when you drop by!
