It’s October. And you know what that means…Oktoberfest is happening here in Savannah every weekend until Oct. 31 at the Plant Riverside District. Entry to the event is free, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to drink, eat, listen to music, and enjoy this time of year in The Hostess City.
What comes to mind when you think of Oktoberfest? Booze, booze, and more booze – beer overflowing from pint glasses, cheersing friends, and a fun night all around. In addition, fourteen restaurants at Plant Riverside District will offer a range of food and drink specials.
We all know you can’t just have a glass of beer at Oktoberfest without enjoying a bratwurst right alongside it. And if brats are not exactly your thing, there are plenty of other options to choose from! This year, you’ll get to try from a variety of German favorites served up in huge portions. Carmel apple funnel cake, anyone?
Grab your beer and your grub and park a seat next to the stage at the pavilion tent – the live music performances at Oktoberfest will not disappoint. Bob and the Polka Dots will treat you to a traditional polka music show from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday, Oct. 9 and 31. And if you’re stopping by on Friday or Saturday nights, you’ll catch other artists performing from 7 to 10 PM.
Contests & Competitions
If you can eat like a champ (bratwurst eating contest) or if you have some serious wrist strength (stein holding competition), you’ll want to sign up for the contests and competitions happening this year at Oktoberfest.
