Summers in Georgia equal sunny days, more time spent outside, and plenty of opportunities to get out on the water in the Savannah-Pooler area – and Olympus Carrington is sharing our favorite ways to do just that.
Learn to Surf
If you’ve ever been interested in learning how to ride waves, this season is the perfect time to study up on surfing and get out on the beautiful coastal waters of Tybee Island. Nationally certified instructors at Tybee Surf Lessons teach you how to paddle, balance, pop up, and cruise under the wave’s crest.
With private or group lesson options happening most days a week, finding a class that works for you is as simple as checking out their upcoming schedule. A two-hour group lesson starts at $65 per person. Just bring your suit, a rashguard or water shirt, towel, water bottle, and make sure you lather up with sunscreen.
Personal Watercraft
When you think of watersports, zooming across the waves at high speed definitely comes to mind. With minimal physical effort required and all the high-speed thrills of a motorized watercraft doing the heavy lifting, this seems like one of the most fun ways to get onto the water. At Tybee Jet Ski, you can book a one-hour solo ride for $105 or a tandem session for $129. Book your reservation online and get out on the water in Dolphin Bay for incredible views and all the outdoor adventure.
Kayak
Get an up close and personal experience of Georgia's coastal barrier island system with a Tybee Island kayak tour from Sea Kayak Georgia. Sign up for their half-day (three- or four-hour) tour for just $65 to $75, and be immersed in nature like you’ve never been before.
