Rattan furniture is hot, hot, hot! It’s stylish, sustainable, and dominating the design scene at present. If you love the natural, boho vibes of this buzzy design trend but don’t want to pay big bucks to get the look, read on. Because as much as we love Pottery Barn, Serena & Lily, and the like, we can’t always afford those price tags. Try these alternatives instead.

Rattan Furniture

Head to Pier One online for a pair of rattan dining chairs that have a midcentury form. Add a beachy feel to your living room with this round rattan abaca coffee table from Wayfair, or incorporate a touch of rattan and some 70s flair to your bedroom with Urban Outfitters’ Ria nightstand. Splurge a little on this super-cool Britanna hanging egg chair from Target that evokes fun treehouse and swing set vibes, or keep it a little more budget-friendly with the Fallon Cocoon Chair from World Market. Another pretty seating option is the Buskbo armchair from IKEA, with it’s eye-catching curved lines and comfy cushion.

The Tavi room divider from Urban Outfitters can be used to provide some separation for the WFH office nook in your living room, or placed flat against the wall in your bedroom to serve as a chic headboard. Check out this woven bamboo pendant shade at World Market that comes in natural or black and oozes designer style, but sells for a fraction of the cost of similar shades you’ll see at high-end stores.

Corral your pet toys and accessories, blankets, or magazines in this Opalhouse rattan basket from Target. The multi-functional 3-tier Farrah storage tower from World Market could be great for kitchen storage, as an office organizer, or in your bathroom. Finally, the woven Haderittan basket from IKEA fits perfectly into any 12-inch square cubby or cubicle, and is great for hiding away any odds and ends you’d rather keep out of sight.

Have fun finding the perfect rattan pieces for your home, and take a look at more blog posts from Olympus Carrington for other great decor and lifestyle ideas.
