Tom Triplett Community Park

This little park manages to pack quite a punch. It features pavilions, a disc golf course, tennis courts, a jogging track, and a fully-stocked fishing lake with two piers. It’s a beautiful place to rest or play and only ten minutes from downtown Savannah.

National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force

This museum, open seven days a week, offers an immersive educational experience with their beautifully-designed exhibits and audio-visual material. Learn all about military aviation, WWII, and the Eighth Air Force. When you’re done touring, take a stroll in their beautiful memorial garden.

Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens

Enjoy this beautiful garden location, less than ten miles away from Olympus Carrington. You’ll find dozens of beautiful spaces to explore, including a rose garden, cottage garden, river of irises, bamboo collection, camellia trail, xeriscape garden, and an orchid greenhouse. They even offer gardening resources, classes, and workshops.

Savannah Ogeechee Canal Museum and Nature Center

Another short drive into Savannah will lead you to this beautiful historical site and nature center. It features a museum and information on the Savannah-Ogeechee Canal as well as extensive hiking trails beloved by local birders.

Fort McAllister State Park

If you’re willing to go on a bit of a drive (24 miles), this state park will be well worth it. Its almost 2,000-acre location along the Ogeechee River features 4.3 miles of hiking trails, not to mention boat ramps, fishing piers, and picnic areas.
