Explore These Historic Sites near Brunswick

The seaside town of Brunswick, located on Georgia's southeast coast, is well known for its magnificently preserved Victorian-era Old Town Historic District and its enormous, centuries-old Lover's Oak tree.

Brunswick also offers a variety of historic sites to visit throughout the summer. Here are a few bucket-list-worthy places to explore near our Brunswick apartments.

Take Breathtaking Pictures at the Historic Sandy Driftwood Beach

Driftwood Beach is a beach with lovely driftwood and old trees that resemble a tree cemetery. It is situated on the north end of Jekyll Island.

The enigmatic beach was created as a result of the island's north end progressively eroding and moving to its southern end, resulting in a breathtaking natural setting and a spot for exceptional photography.

Discover the Historic Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation

The Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation, located in Glynn County, was once a rice plantation that produced rice from 1800 until 1915. From that point on, it was a dairy farm until 1942. The home is now a National Historic Register of Places and symbolizes the history and culture of Georgia's rice coast.

Visit Fort Frederica National Monument

The Fort Frederica National Monument, situated on St. Simons Island, recognizes the intact remnants of the fortifications constructed in the 18th century to defend the southern border of the British colony of Georgia against the Spanish.

James Oglethorpe built the fort between 1736 and 1748. Fort Frederica, which bears the name of the son of King George II and the Prince of Wales, is included in the National Register of Historic Places and is open to the public.
