Whether you want to find a new book, research your ancestry, or enjoy lunchtime yoga, the Brunswick-Glynn County Library has you covered. It always features something new to discover and welcomes patrons Monday through Saturday. Here is some of what the library offers near our Brunswick apartments:
Hattie's Book Club
For a fun way to discover different authors while meeting new friends, join Hattie's Book Club. It holds lively conversations on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:15 p.m. Upcoming books for 2023 include The Lincoln Highway, Pride and Prejudice, and The Paris Librarian.
Inside the Heritage Room, you will find, "items of special interest to researchers, genealogists, and local citizens." One of the highlights includes the Vertical File collection. It features pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and other materials covering topics important to Brunswick and surrounding communities. Additionally, the library also offers online resources to aid in your research. Sources like HeritageHub can help you explore your ancestry through obituaries and death notices from 1704 to the present day.
Brunswick Scrabblers' Club
Originally called Criss Cross (and later Lexico), Scrabble has been a popular board game for generations. It originated after Alfred Mosher Butts decided to create a game combining the thrill of chance and skill. He took inspiration from anagrams and classic crossword puzzles, and today, Scrabble is found in three of every five American homes. To enjoy a friendly game of Scrabble and meet new friends, head to the library on Friday mornings. All skill levels can join in on the fun.
After visiting the Brunswick-Glynn County Library, head to a local restaurant for some mouthwatering barbecue. You can enjoy everything from pulled chicken to fall-off-the-bone ribs.
