3 INSTRUMENTS YOU CAN TEACH YOURSELF TO PLAY

|

As we continue to live in a world where the majority of our free time is spent at home, let’s face it, there’s only so much TV you can binge watch. And maybe now is the best time to pick up that musical instrument that you always said you were going to learn. With that in mind, here are three musical instruments you can learn how to play all on your own.

Guitar

Who hasn’t dreamt of being onstage whaling away on a guitar with thousands of fans cheering you on. Or maybe you just want to be able to play your favorite song. Either way, you’ve got to learn to play. A decent starter guitar will cost you between $150 and $200 and with a free online tutorial that lets you learn at your own pace you’ll be strumming away your favorite ballad in no time.

Musical Keyboard

If you type ‘piano tutorial’ into your favorite search engine you’d be blown away by how many great piano players are imparting their knowledge and skills for fellow keyboard enthusiasts. Basic beginner keyboards are less than $100 and while advanced help is possible through online tutorials you can easily learn the basics for free on free platforms like youtube.

Recorder

Okay you laugh, but seriously, there’s a reason this is the first instrument most children learn how to play. It’s easy to figure out, it gives you a great foundation to expand into other flute style instruments, they come in a variety of colors/sizes, and they sound good. Tutorials are available for free online, teaching you everything from the theme of Pirates to The Caribbean to Bohemian Rhapsody. Plus, if you can make the recorder look cool, you can do anything.
