3 REASONS TO CHECK OUT GEORGIA’S HOME-GROWN RUM DISTILLERY

|

Looking for something different to do in Brunswick this weekend? Or do you just love rum? Here are three reasons to check out Georgia’s home-grown rum distillery, Richland Rum.

Grown in Georgia

Founded in 1999, everything about Richland Rum is Georgia-centric. The sugarcane used to craft the rum is grown and harvested on the label’s namesake Richland Estate farm in – you guessed it – Richland. Twenty years and a trophy-cabinet full of awards later, the company now operates two distilleries: the original plant in Richland and one here in coastal Brunswick.

All About Rum

A visit to either Richland Rum location is not just a visit to the only rum distillery in Georgia. It’s also the only single-estate rum distillery in the U.S. If you’re new to the spirit-tasting realm, single estate means everything is done right there onsite. Much like wine, when every part of the process takes place locally, it has a unique flavor that is authentic to the area.

Richland Rum Offers Tours & Tastings

If you’re planning a visit to the Richland Rum Distillery, make sure to check out all of their tours and tasting options. At both locations, the choices range from a free 15-minute tour where guests meet some of the makers and learn about the traditional processes used to craft Richland Rum, up to an in-depth 40-minute tour for $40 that concludes with a tasting flight of rare rums. Or you can fully immerse yourself at the Richland location with a day-long experience on October 15 or 16, 2021, that covers all aspects of production, including a tour of the farm, gourmet dining, tastings and more, for $500 per person. Choose your own adventure!
