4 PERFECT PLACES TO PADDLEBOARD NEAR BRUNSWICK

|

If Georgia could be known for anything other than incredible food, it would be for its beautiful waterways and inlets. With countless places around the St. Simons Islands and Jekyll Island areas for scenic views and calm waters, this is where you want to be for a SUP (stand-up paddleboard) session this summer. The Enclave is sharing our list of must-see destinations on your next paddleboarding adventure.

Gould's Inlet

Located just north of East Beach, this inlet can be accessed right from the sand. Launch onto your SUP and head Northwest into Gould’s Inlet. This out-and-back waterway system is perfect for beginners as it’s rarely crowded with watercraft and it’s a breeze to find yourself back where you started.

Mackay River

For more intermediate or advanced SUPs, the Mackay River is an awesome area to paddle around. This complicated waterway system connects the Saint Simons Sound, East River, Back River, Altamaha River, and Buttermilk Sound, so you have plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and a killer workout. We recommend launching from the dock at Gascoigne Bluff Park – just be sure to remember your way back!

East Beach

With an entire beach to launch from and plenty of coastal views, this location definitely made it on our list of must-see paddleboarding spots. Head north along the shoreline for views of sandy beaches or make your way into the Saint Simons Sound for a more nature-centric location.

Book a Guided Tour

For those who are new to the SUP scene, try out a guided experience with Golden Isles Paddle Co. They cater to all skill levels, so if you’ve never been on a SUP before, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try. Explore new waterways without having to worry about finding your way back with the help of an experienced tour guide.
