Check Out Brunswick’s Many Art Galleries
Given its small size, there are a wealth of art galleries in Brunswick, GA. Enjoy perusing and purchasing at these unique cultural centers near our Brunswick apartments.
The Gallery on Newcastle
This gallery is focused on the lush saltwater marshscapes in oil by artist Janet Powers. She renovated the space, which was an old funeral home in 1888. Powers does not burden her landscapes with human forms to allow the spirit to show. In a reaction to the human devastation, she saw over 30 years in Myrtle Beach. Other works on display are art and artifacts and antiques from China, Indonesia, and Mexico and words by Alex Powers, Terry Michaud, David Goldhaugen, Louise Eaton, Patricia Shistle, Inez Nickmans, and John and Lynn Whipple.
SOGLO Gallery
This gallery offers much more than the art on exhibit. Sure, there are great paintings in the gallery which won't cost a million bucks. But you can also learn about old businesses in town, such as the It's Amazing Hair and Beauty Center or Larry's Restaurant, through the Reunion Anthropological Studies of Family and Nostalgia photography exhibit. The Brunswick Actor Theater (B.A.T.) also operates out of this venue with classics like "Tinx Just Stincks and Charlie Doesn't." They don't take themselves too seriously. They also offer cultural tours.
Brown's Antiques
Brown's is an antique purveyor with a wide range of interests. Mainly, Brown's Antiques focuses on articles for the home. They sell rugs, china, lamps, furnishings, and home accents. They also sell jewelry and other pieces in silver and provide estate sale services.
