Escape to a Beautiful Coastal Day Trip near Brunswick

Enjoy Sunshine and Fun with Coastal Day Trips near Brunswick

Life in Brunswick, GA is as good as it gets. You have all the conveniences of shopping centers, fine dining options, as well as historic charm. Additionally, the best part of living in our apartments in Brunswick is our proximity to some of the most beautiful coastal day trips in Georgia. Check out our favorite coastal escapes just a short drive away.

SKIDAWAY ISLAND STATE PARK

Head north towards historic Savannah to reach Skidaway Island State Park. This small, pristine barrier island is located a mere 15 miles away from Savannah's bustling downtown. Explore six miles of mostly flat hiking or biking trails and climb the observation tower to spot deer,  raccoons, and fiddler crabs. The island also provides homes to more than 300 species of birds, including bald eagles, osprey, and egrets.

CUMBERLAND ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE

Cumberland Island National Seashore is located on the largest and southernmost barrier island in Georgia. It was designated as a National Seashore in 1972, and more than 9,800 acres of the island became a wilderness area a decade later. This unique protected ecosystem continues to provide homes for a diverse range of plant and animal species today.

This massive island, located about an hour south of Brunswick, provides stunning views of both Cumberland Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. It also offers campsites, bike trails, and a guided tour of the unique environment and history of the northern island. There's even plenty of room to get in a beach workout if you'd like.

BIG TALBOT ISLAND STATE PARK

About 70 miles south of Brunswick in northern Florida, Big Talbot Island State Park is a breathtakingly beautiful nature preserve. It's the perfect place for bird-watching and nature photography. Explore the shoreline (especially Boneyard Beach with its famous tree skeletons), the salt marsh, the maritime forest, and Spoonbill Pond. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the bluffs before heading over to explore one of the other six parks that collectively comprise Florida's Talbot Islands State Parks system.

After a fun and tiring coastal day trip, you're sure to enjoy the tranquil beauty and luxurious comfort of our apartments in Brunswick. If you’d like to become a resident of Odyssey Lake, contact us to schedule a tour.
