Discover Stunning Sea Creatures at These Tampa Preserves and Beaches
The experience of witnessing a glistening gray dolphin leap out of the water never gets old. Although not directly on the ocean's coast, the chances of seeing a dolphin at one of Tampa's scenic bays are pretty high. There are several areas close to our Tampa apartments where you can feel the magic of spotting one of these beautiful sea creatures.
Bayshore Boulevard
This 4.5-mile-long sidewalk sits alongside Hillsborough Bay, one of the best places in Tampa to go for a walk, rollerblade, or bike. You may even get lucky and spot a dolphin peak its head up in the distance. They've even been known to get up close and play along the shoreline of the trail. Not to mention, Bayshore Boulevard is right outside Olympus Harbour Island.
Weedon Island Preserve
Right off the Gandy Bridge sits Weedon Island Preserve, which has 3,190 acres on Tampa Bay. It's a popular place to go paddle boarding and kayaking. If you choose, you'll surely see all sorts of wildlife. Whether it's stingrays, egrets, herons, or dolphins, there's so much incredible nature to take in. Kayaking allows you to go further and possibly witness a group of dolphins chase their prey near the beautiful mangroves.
Cypress Point Park and Beach
If you want to avoid the traffic and crowds but dip your toes in the water, Cypress Point Beach is the place to go and one of Tampa's hidden gems. You'll find lots of wildlife, walking trails, and volleyball courts. Florida is known for its beautiful sunsets, and you might even spot a dolphin or two on the horizon.
