4 SWANKIEST BARS IN TAMPA

|

If you love to explore the bar scene and are looking for upscale locations to visit, you’re in luck – Tampa has some of the most sophisticated bars in the Southeast. Here are a few to check out.

M.Bird

Above the historic Armature Works building, you’ll find this classy bar with its modern, art deco style. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy the waterfront views including the incredible and always-evolving Tampa cityscape. They offer a menu of delicious appetizers and entrees with everything from Spicy Garlic Shrimp to Jerk Chicken Eggrolls. But what keeps patrons coming back for more is their cocktail list, which features tropical fruits and tasty flavor combinations. Their Banana Daiquiri on the rocks and pineapple- and lime-infused Out of Towner are particular standouts.

Fly Bar + Restaurant

In the mood for a Gatsby vibe? Head over to the historic Lafayette Arcade on Kennedy Boulevard and enjoy this jazz-themed bar. Their attention to design and style is off the charts, up to and including the look of their menus. Stay for dinner if you have time and enjoy their Sichuan Peppercorn Crusted Yellowfin Tuna or Indian Butter Chicken. And don’t miss their creatively-named “fly” cocktails including the bourbon and mint Crow Jane and the tequila and grapefruit Back at the Chicken Shack.

H2: The Mermaid Tavern

This gem, tucked into Seminole Heights, might not look like much on the outside, but locals know it as a trendy, intimate bar with amazing drinks and food. Their décor is eclectic and unpretentious, yet so expertly put together that it gives off a seriously “casual-sophisticated” vibe. They pride themselves on keeping an eclectic and well-curated bar menu. Even the most dedicated beer lovers will find a brew they’ve never tried before, and their wine list is impressive enough to hold the interest of every oenophile in Tampa.

Bulla Gastrobar

In the Soho and Hyde Park neighborhood sits this bar and restaurant that celebrates the tradition of Spanish tapas (shareable dishes). Head up to the Luna Lounge on the rooftop to enjoy their handcrafted cocktails, beer, wine, delicious food, and stunning views of downtown Tampa. The Bougie Palmer featuring vodka, lemon, and lavender syrup, and the Sangria Roja with brandy, triple sec, Sprite, and orange, are patron favorites.
