Spend a Fun-filled Day at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa
For a fun-filled way to learn about marine life, head to The Florida Aquarium. It's ranked among the best aquariums in the United States and strives to inspire conservation action. The following are some of what the aquarium has to offer near our Canopy at Citrus Park Tampa apartments:
Bays & Beaches
In Bays & Beaches, you'll learn about the creatures living under the bridges and rock pilings in coastal Florida. A highlight includes the garden eels. These creatures never take their bodies completely out of the sand. They have big eyes, short noses, and slim bodies. Garden eels also have one fin, and their size varies by species.
Stingray Beach
Step into Stingray Beach to "touch the velvety wing of a cownose ray." These stingrays are active swimmers. In the wild, they live in shallow marine and brackish coastal waters and are rarely motionless on the seafloor. A group of cownose stingrays is a "fever", and these rays often form large schools and migrate long distances. Be sure to visit the stingrays when you are in the aquarium.
Wild Dolphin Cruise
Board the Bay Spirit II for an experience you won't soon forget. A naturalist will share fun facts about the animals and natural beauty of the bay. Along the way, you may spot bottlenose dolphins, shorebirds, and more. Also, weather permitting, the Wild Dolphin Cruise departs the aquarium daily.
SeaTREK
SeaTREK offers a one-of-a-kind underwater walking tour you won't soon forget. Join the certified guide to explore the coral caves of the Heart of the Sea habitat. You'll get close to colorful fish, spotted eagle rays, and even a loggerhead sea turtle. You won't be sorry you stopped by for the SeaTREK adventure when you visit the aquarium.
Before visiting the aquarium, start your day with a delicious donut from a nearby shop. Finally, for more information on calling Canopy at Citrus Park home, please contact us. Our leasing team would love to discuss everything you can enjoy as a resident of our Tampa apartments.
