5 MUST-TRY BREWERIES IN TAMPA WHERE YOU’LL SAVOR EVERY SIP

|

When you’re looking to add a little flavor to your life, local craft beer culture is here for you! In Tampa, we’ve got plenty of delicious, foamy options – but you can start with these five must-try local breweries. Skål!

SixTen Brewing

Start your Tampa brewery tour just a few minutes from the airport at SixTen Brewing, located right off the Veterans Expressway. You’ll be welcomed into a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where you can drink good beer with real beer people. Check out the CBGB (Cool Beautiful Groovy Beer), a Berliner Weisse that you can perk up with flavored syrups like apricot and blackberry, or the TB12 Belgian-style Quadrupel, sure to make you feel like you’ve just won seven Super Bowls. SixTen is dog friendly too, so this is the perfect place to post up with your pup for the afternoon.

Wild Rover Brewing Company

A can’t-miss experience in Tampa brew culture, Wild Rover Brewing Company is a British-style pub in Westchase that delivers the beer, food, and vibes you’d expect. If you’re a Premier League fan, you’ll want to catch a few matches on Saturdays at this spirited soccer bar. Dig into their hearty pub fare, from the juicy burgers to the fish and chips – battered with Wild Rover beer, of course. It’s all about the dark beers here, so try their nice selection of stouts and porters.

Angry Chair Brewing

If stouts are your beer of choice, the next place you’ll want to check out is Angry Chair Brewing, situated on Florida Avenue near Fern Street in Seminole Heights. Settle into their cool and moody space, surrounded by graphic art in their dark aesthetic, and post up on the funky bar stools that give this brewery its name. Choose from a full lineup of imperial stouts – starting with the Barrel-Aged Imperial German Chocolate Cupcake Stout – and find some sweet comfort in unlikely packaging.

Coppertail Brewing Co.

At Coppertail Brewing Co. in East Ybor, you get artwork with your beer – and that’s pretty dang cool. This unique brewery certainly nails their nautical, folk-inspired aesthetic, from the Instagram-worthy murals outside their taproom to the custom illustrations that grace their beautiful cans. But rest assured, it’s not all about looks here. Chill in their awesome industrial space, sip on the citrusy Free Dive IPA or one of the many beers tap, and dig into their delicious wings. Coppertail delivers good beer and good food for an overall awesome experience. You won’t be disappointed.

Cigar City Brewing

For your last stop, head to Cigar City Brewing in Carver City – Lincoln Gardens. For the quality of food and beer, you won’t find a better go-to spot in Tampa. Order up savory goodies like the Cuban Meatloaf and Grouper Sandwich, or go with the classic Bavarian Beer House Pretzel. If you’re a fan of IPA, try them all – from the Jai Alai and Jai Low IPAs to the Florida Man double. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to leave Cigar City sated.
