4 STELLAR TAMPA BEACHES FOR STARTING THE NEW YEAR RIGHT

|

Tampa is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Sunshine State. So why not start out this new year by spending some time on these stunning stretches of sand? Here are a few you should visit this month.

Ben T. Davis Beach

Davis Beach showcases Tampa’s beautiful white sands. It’s a perfect place for a picnic, sunbathing, or a dip in the calm ocean water. It can be crowded, due to its ideal location near downtown and the airport, but the buzzing social scene is part of its charm. If you really want to see something special, head over just before dusk and watch the dramatic sunsets. Or spend a weekend afternoon there and before you leave the beach, enjoy a stroll or bike ride on the adjacent Courtney Campbell Trail, which will take you through 4 miles of beautiful scenery.

Cypress Point Park

Many locals overlook this beautiful location, not realizing that it’s a fully functioning beach. It’s true that Cypress Point Park is best known for its trails, disc golf course, volleyball courts, playground, and picnic shelters, but visitors can also swim here. It’s a beautiful stretch of calm water and white sand where you can watch planes coming and going from the nearby airport, as well as enjoy some of the best views of the sunsets in the city.

Picnic Island Park

This park lives up to its name as one of the best picnic destinations in the city – and also happens to have one of the best beaches, too. Here at this location, you’ll find all the amenities of Cypress Point, and more. Bring your canoe or kayak and enjoy a paddle using their launch area. Run your pup at the dog beach south of the fishing pier. And best of all, you can work on your 2022 fitness goals with their Energi Total Body Fitness System.

Indian Rocks Beach

Just outside the city, this is a less crowded beach in a quiet neighborhood filled with residential and vacation homes, which means you won’t get the typical tourist crowds. There are lots of surf shops in the area so you can enjoy the waves, or simply get a little sun.
