There’s no better occasion than St. Patrick’s Day to get out and spend time with friends and celebrate. Here are a few upcoming events in Sarasota that you’ll want to check out.
The Green Mile Crawl
You can’t have St. Patrick’s Day without a good, old-fashioned pub crawl, right? This one takes place on Saturday, March 12, from 4 to 11 PM. Tickets for this event include two free shots, a green lanyard to identify you as a participant, access to the crawl’s digital map, all the party amenities including live DJs, and drink specials. If you really want to go all out, purchase the VIP ticket and get all of that plus a free T-shirt. You’ll be stopping at many of the favorite local pubs, including Gator Club, Smokin’ Joe’s, Raffurty’s, and Pizza N’ Brew. Pick up your ticket as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on this fun event.
Annual Leprechaun Hunt
Head over to the Children’s Garden at 10 AM on Saturday, March 12, for a morning-of St. Patrick’s style fun. Pitch in and help find all the hidden gold in the garden before the leprechauns return and you’ll earn yourself a goody bag.
Lakewood Ranch Irish Celtic Festival
This annual Celtic festival is a favorite event for locals – and with good reason! It’s filled with opportunities to enjoy Celtic music, dancing, food, and craft beers. Other than the parking fee, it’s free to attend – just be sure to wear green, otherwise you might get a few sidelong glances. And bring your pup if you want to participate in the Lucky Dog Parade, an event within the festival that benefits the local animal shelters.
Game Night with Beneva Fruitville
If you haven’t enjoyed Bingo Night with Sarasota’s favorite drag queen, then you are missing out. This game night on Thursday, March 17, at Mellow Mushroom, will include bingo, trivia, Name That Tune, as well as a few surprises. You’ll likely be in stitches, thanks to Beneva Fruitville’s sassy sense of humor. Get your tickets ahead of time – and the sooner the better. These events tend to sell out quickly.
